Vice President, Project Management

General Role:

The individual in this position serves as the leader of BIA’s eDiscovery Project Management Team and is a driving force for ensuring service excellence across a wide spectrum of legal and corporate clients. Your focus will be on creating, leading, and maintaining a dynamic team environment, ensuring the team – and the company’s – continued success and expansion.  This position reports to the EVP, Professional Services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Day to day oversight of a highly skilled team of eDiscovery project managers
  • Monitor all projects from a high level and remain up to date on all major project-related communications, deliverables and deadlines
  • Provide expert guidance to the PM Team to increase quality levels and mitigate the risk of service issues
  • Troubleshoot issues and work with the PMs and others as needed to resolve any such issues
  • Track and report on any issues and their resolutions; including any new processes or training designed to mitigate issue recurrence
  • Regularly evaluate team member performance and devise professional growth plans for each team member
  • Lead by example and establish clear expectations and communications
  • Set direction and priorities to ensure work levels are balanced across the team and delegate or seek assistance from other department heads as needed
  • Maintain, design, improve and enforce policies, protocols, workflows and standards
  • Seek opportunities to increase departmental efficiencies and responsiveness
  • Reduce costs and increase efficiencies by streamlining functional tasks and activities
  • Ensure that client expectations and project requirements are being met by staff with the highest quality, timeliness, and adherence to discrete budgetary constraints
  • Demonstrate excellent people management skills and impeccable project management skills
  • Serve as a point of contact for internal and cross-departmental relations with other core BIA teams
  • Facilitate professional development of the team by providing learning opportunities, support and timely feedback on work product that includes regular coaching and recognition of performance and accomplishments
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, ability to effectively juggle competing demands, prioritize appropriately, and oversee multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Professional Credentials & Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ project management experience in the eDiscovery industry
  • Experience managing document review and computer forensics projects a big plus  
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a leadership role, preferably within eDiscovery or litigation support roles
  • Strong technical understanding and/or experience with the EDRM and eDiscovery lifecycle is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree a strong plus
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation a plus
  • Extensive experience and/or certification with eDiscovery software & technologies a plus
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with all MS Office applications, particularly Excel a plus
