PR & Marketing Assistant


BIA is an eDiscovery and Digital Forensics service provider based in lower Manhattan. Our small-but-mighty internal PR & Marketing team focuses on generating meaningful, valuable, and timely content and collateral for our clients and for the industry as a whole. We are looking for a strong writer who knows their way around the EDRM and who can work with us at our office in the Financial District. This is a full-time position with health, dental, vision, and 401k benefits.

This person also will manage relationships with editors and key contacts at various news media outlets, pitching new story ideas and crafting/editing content for articles, blogs, and press releases. The role includes managing BIA’s social media (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube); helping build brand awareness; assisting Sales with targeted sales efforts (including email campaigns); and interfacing with team members across all levels of our company.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Writing and editing content related to BIA’s eDiscovery and Digital Forensics services
    • Blogs
      • Helping identify/choose blog ideas, themes, and topics
      • Creating blog summary grids to assist with internal drafting
      • Conducting interviews with internal and external subject matter experts
      • Drafting blogs based on interview content and supplementary research as needed
      • Editing and finalizing content in accordance with SEO guidelines from Head of Digital Marketing
    • Articles
      • Creating and maintaining relationships with editors & other key media contacts
      • Writing bylines (outside articles to pitch to editors at media outlets)
      • Drafting, editing, and submitting (to publishers) longer form articles
      • Summarizing published articles for posting on BIA’s marketing site

    • Overseeing/managing our contracts and benefits with those partners
  • Awards
    • Managing Award process with organizations (e.g., Crain’s, Best Companies, National Law Journal, etc.)
      • Identifying and applying for awards
      • Submitting materials by deadline
      • Internal and external announcements about voting deadlines
  • Supporting and assisting Sales Team efforts
    • Contributing to RFP/RFI/Security Assessment responses
    • Helping to plan, present, and document sales events: webinars, onsite events, CLEs (which includes managing state accreditation)
    • Coordinating as needed for BIA-sponsored events
    • Routine database management (Microsoft Dynamics CRM)
    • Working with Sales Team on account-based marketing strategies and campaigns
  • Marketing Campaigns
    • Project manage marketing campaigns from beginning to end, ensuring they meet the target objective
    • Maintain schedules to ensure campaign execution stays on track

  • Strongly Preferred
    • Legal industry experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or related area
    • Minimum 1 – 3 years’ experience in direct marketing applications
    • Experience in multi-channel direct marketing, data analytics, and campaign measurement
    • Experience working with cross-functional teams including close collaboration with Sales & Technology
    • Experience with Project Management and coordinating with key partners to track and manage project lifecycles through to launch

    • Understanding of and experience with SEO basics
    • Microsoft Dynamics CRM skills and experience
    • Document design skills, including Adobe InDesign
